In 2022, the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA) expanded from its original five-state region (Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) to include six additional Midwestern states (Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, and Ohio). Today, our 11-state service area represents over 50% of American dairy farms and 35% of U.S. milk production. Serving the heart of our nation’s dairy community, DBIA is proud to support the hard-working dairy farmers and processors across this region!

- Grants: More than $26.5 million in nearly 320 grant awards to dairy farmers and processors
- Technical Assistance: More than $12 million allocated to providing practical technical assistance across our region, including:
- Five highly experienced mentors who serve as free, expert resources to DBIA grant recipients and new dairy businesses
- Market Intelligence reports to provide information & insights to direct product development and marketing strategies
- Practical research projects that tackle the transformation of dairy byproducts into value-added materials
- CDR staff funding to address the increase in demand for technical assistance across the region
- Equipment available to support product development and troubleshooting across the region
